Mr. Melissa
Head Teacher
Melissa received her A.S. in Child Development from College of Sequoias in 2009 and began her work at a place to grow Montessori in 2010 as support staff. After a Melissa moved into the position of assistant teacher with Ms. Blair. That same year she and several staff members took a trip to visit another Montessori school in the Bay Area. During the trip the teachers were talking about the training program in Sunnyvale, California. This conversation lead Melissa to pursue her Infant/Toddler Montessori teaching credential in 2013 with the help of Blair and the other teachers. She loved the material she learned while studying that year. It helped her understand Maria Montessori more deeply. The experience was amazing.
Melissa’s daughter started at a place to grow Montessori in 2018 and Melissa enjoys having her there and seeing her language expand as well as her social skills with the other children. Her daughter comes home singing the songs that she learns in the classroom. One of Melissa’s favorite parts of the day is when she gets to sit with an individual child and do a lesson. She loves showing them work then watching them master the material.
