Ms. Makayla
Lead Teacher
Makayla was born and raised in Visalia. From a young age, she always had a deep love for working with children. Makayla knew early that she wanted to make a difference in the lives of young learners. When she discovered the Montessori method, it completely opened her eyes, heart, and teaching style. She immediately knew she belonged in this atmosphere. The Montessori philosophy spoke to everything she believed about how children learn best: with curiosity, independence, and purpose.
For the past six years, she has had the joy of working at a place to grow Montessori, where she’s been able to grow both personally and professionally. Being a Montessori educator is more than just a job; it is a passion. As the saying goes, “When you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life,” and Makayla lives this every day.
Outside of school, Makayla cherishes spending quality time with friends and family. She loves weekly game nights, good food, and shared laughter are some of her most favorite ways to unwind. She’s also a big fan of the outdoors and looks forward to her yearly backpacking adventure with her family to help her recharge and connect. Most recently, she introduced her first baby boy to the world, and stepped into motherhood which has been an incredible and rewarding journey.
Makayla is honored to be part of the Montessori community and is excited to continue growing alongside your children.
